He began his studies at an early age in the municipality of Guachetá – Cundinamarca, where he had a musical initiation with different percussion instruments and woodwinds since he was 5 years old, starting his career as a young clarinet player. At the age of 15 he started playing piano and in the same year he joined the symphonic band of Zipaquirá. At the age of 16 he began his studies at the University of Cundinamarca with clarinet master Mauricio Murcia Bedoya.

He has belonged to different groups during his musical career among them: Traditional Band of Zipaquirá, Big Band Zipaquirá, Symphonic Band of Cogua, Youth Symphonic Band of Chia, Big Band UdeC, Orchestra UdeC, Ensamble “World Music”, Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Cundinamarca, Regional Symphonic Orchestra of Cundinamarca, Special Symphonic Band of Chia and Youth Symphonic Band of Cundinamarca 2022.

He has performed in different stages of the country and international auditoriums, among the most outstanding are: Fabio Lozano Auditorium, Teatro Colsubsidio Roberto Arias Pérez, León de Greiff Auditorium, National University, Gabriel Betancourt Mejía Cultural Center, University of Boyacá Auditorium, Chicago – Illinois, Sao Paulo Music Conservatory and Miguez Escola de Música UFRJ Auditorium, Rio de Janeiro – Brazil.

Respectively he has received classes with different national and Latin American teachers among them; Dianelys Castillo (Cuba), Carlos Saldaña Osorio, Elisa Rangel Hall, Mauricio Murcia, Raniery Chacón (Venezuela) and pianists such as Francois Pianol (France), Fabian Rojas, Diego Barrero, Alexander Pastrana, among others.

Participating in different competitions and national festivals such as: National Band Competition Paipa 2017 and 2019, Colono de Oro (Florencia – Caquetá), Festival del Bambuco (Neiva – Huila), Tolijazz 2021 (Ibagué – Tolima), Voces del Jazz 2021 (Cartagena – Colombia), among others.

He is currently working as a professional musician, Master in Music from the University of Cundinamarca with Juan Alejandro Candamil, first clarinet of the Symphonic Band of Zipaquirá, pianist in Texa’s ensemble, pianist and clarinetist in Lpquartet, pianist and accordion player in DVG and “Yo me llamo Joan Sebastian”, clarinet trainer in the Instituto de Cultura y Turismo de Tenjo Cundinamarca and woodwinds trainer in the Instituto Departamental de Cultura y Turismo de Cundinamarca – Colombia.
